Standing Committee denies role in fuel price hike
The Parliamentary Standing Committee for reviewing the prices of fuel in India has denied itself from being involved in the Central Government's decision to hike diesel price by Rs. 5 per litre, and restricted sales of subsidized cooking fuel or Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders to six per consumer annually. Standing Committee member Vijay Rupani stated that the Government is alone to be blamed for the fuel price hike.
