Shutdown in Kashmir on Martyrs Day
Separatists observed a shutdown in Srinagar on 'Martyrs Day', falling on July 13, with an aim to express solidarity with those who killed in 1931 outside the Central Jail in Srinagar by the Dogra troops. Life in the Kashmir Valley was disrupted as shops remained closed. The area bore a deserted look as security personnel were deployed across the city to maintain law and order.
